Our Chairman – Dr. Dharmendra Kumar

Born and raised in Andarshivan, Bihar, in 1973, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar hails from a humble farming family with strong political influence. From a young age, he displayed a deep sensitivity to social issues, shaped by the realities of rural life around him. His academic journey took him to Patna and later Mumbai, where he completed his medical studies.

During his tenure as Chief Medical Advisor at Reliance Refinery, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar frequently participated in rural medical camps across India. It was during one such assignment in Jamnagar, Gujarat, that a life-altering incident took place — a young widow was brutally beaten to death by villagers who believed she was a danger to their community due to her illness. Witnessing such deep-rooted ignorance and fear surrounding health conditions left Dr. Kumar heartbroken. Determined to bring about change, he made it his life’s mission to improve health awareness and ensure accessible care for vulnerable populations, especially children. This led to the founding of the DRVA Charitable Trust, with a core focus on child care, maternal health, nutrition, and primary healthcare services in underprivileged areas.

Building on this mission, Dr. Kumar established the DRVA (Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Research and Charitable Trust) 14 years ago — a nationwide initiative dedicated to serving those in need. Under his visionary leadership, DRVA has expanded its reach across India, offering:

  • Free health camps in urban slums and remote rural areas
  • Early diagnosis and treatment of TB, HIV, malnutrition, and maternal health issues
  • Distribution of free medicine and specially designed nutritional kits
  • Telemedicine and personalized follow-up care by dedicated doctors
  • Public health awareness campaigns to fight stigma and misinformation

Today, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar stands as a beacon of hope for millions, transforming compassion into action and working tirelessly to bring quality healthcare to every corner of India.
